Role Overview

Drive the evolution of their backend technology, infrastructure, and AI capabilities to ensure high performance, scalability, and seamless integration for their mobile applications.

What will you do:

• Work side by side with the CTO to build the foundations, the present, and the future of their backend and AI systems.

• Develop and enhance backend systems for both existing and new applications in collaboration with mobile engineers.

• Contribute to system design, infrastructure planning, CI/CD processes, and data workflows.

What you’ll be working on

• Implementing and maintaining scalable and reliable backend systems using languages such as Kotlin, Java, Go, Python, or similar.

• Designing backend tools, databases, and application architecture.

• Working directly with cloud services such as AWS, Supabase, or Cloudflare.

• Building tools, libraries, or components that improve backend development efficiency.

What we’re looking for

Backend Engineering:

• Strong backend development experience with languages such as Kotlin, Java, Go, Python, or similar.

• Solid understanding of database design, management, and optimization.

• Proven experience building and maintaining scalable and reliable backend systems.

• Experience with AI is a strong plus, particularly applying models to real product use cases and optimizing them in production environments.

Systems Architecture:

• Experience designing scalable and maintainable backend architectures and selecting the right architectural patterns when needed.

• Ability to monitor systems and architecture using tools such as New Relic or Datadog.

Performance and data

• You know how to build scalable and maintainable code.

• You care about what to measure and how it impacts both business and users.

• You track behavior, usage, and performance, and improve systems based on those insights.
