About the Company

They build the accounting engine for modern finance teams. Their platform learns each company's accounting logic — chart of accounts, business rules, dimensions — and uses AI to automate work that's still manual today: processing invoices, reconciling bank accounts, and managing period-end close. They integrate into the existing ERP, no migrations required. SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant, with clients in Spain, the UK, and France.

About the Role

This is the first internal designer. There's no design system in place, no established design structure — you build it. The product combines data-dense interfaces (reconciliation tables, accounting entries, close dashboards) with AI-driven conversational flows. You'll work closely with engineering and the founders, and you'll need to defend design decisions with product context, not just aesthetic instinct.

Responsibilities

• Own product design end-to-end — from definition through handoff to engineering.

• Build the design system from scratch.

• Design interfaces for complex financial workflows: invoice processing, bank reconciliation, period-end close management.

• Work alongside the engineering team during implementation and ensure design fidelity in production.

• Participate in client conversations to validate design decisions with real users.

• Contribute to the visual direction of the product as it evolves toward a more conversational AI model.

Requirements

• 4+ years of product design experience.

• Portfolio that demonstrates visual judgment and product thinking — not just polished screens, but design decisions grounded in business context.

• Experience with SaaS or fintech products with high information density interfaces.

• Ability to operate as the sole designer in a small team with no prior structure.

• Figma proficiency.

• Fluent conversational English.

• Startup experience or genuine appetite for that pace.

• Use of AI tools in your workflow is a plus.
