Tech Lead Manager
About the Company
They build the marketing intelligence platform for the AI era. As buyers increasingly turn to ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini to make purchasing decisions, they give brands the tools to understand how AI represents them, and the agents to act on it. Backed by Lightspeed, Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, and Khosla Ventures at a $1B valuation, they work with ~13% of the Fortune 500 and are a lean, fast-moving team across NYC, SF, Buenos Aires, and London.
The Role
They're hiring a Tech Lead Manager to lead the Answer Engine Insights team in Buenos Aires. Answer Engine Insights is the core analytics product: it gives brands insight into how AI platforms represent them, who's winning in their category, and which sources are shaping those narratives. The team owns prompt management and execution across AI platforms at scale, response analysis (named entities, sentiment, accuracy extraction), and the data querying layer that powers dashboards, REST API, and MCP.
This is a hybrid role, roughly half technical leadership and architecture, half people management, hiring, and execution. You'll write code, review PRs, and own the hard decisions. You'll also grow engineers, run a tight planning process, and be the engineering point of contact when enterprise customers escalate.
What You'll Do
Lead the Answer Engine Insights roadmap in partnership with the CTO, Head of Engineering, and product leadership
Develop a team of 8–10 engineers: run interview loops, calibrate performance, set expectations clearly
Drive technical decisions on LLM scrapers that run reliably at scale, high-cardinality data models across brands, prompts, regions and time, fine-tuned LLMs for structured sentiment and citation extraction, and a frontend that makes complex analytics feel fast
Ship code yourself on the highest-leverage parts of the system
Be the engineering point of contact when Answer Engine Insights issues escalate with enterprise customers
Represent the team in conversations with sales, customer success, and executives when data coverage, platform integrations, or product capabilities affect commitments
Who You Are
7+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 2 years managing or tech-leading a team
Deep, hands-on experience with data pipelines and analytics infrastructure — you've built systems that ingest, process, and aggregate large volumes of structured and semi-structured data, and you can reason about the tradeoffs between latency, cost, and accuracy
Experience scraping the web at scale: comfortable bypassing bot detection, working with mobile/residential proxies, and reverse engineering web systems
Strong Postgres and Clickhouse skills, you can reason about indexes, query plans, time-series data models, and migrations on analytics-heavy workloads
Experience building frontend analytics experiences — you know what makes a data product feel good to use
Strong product sense for B2B SaaS: you understand what enterprise teams need from analytics products and can design beyond dashboards
Experience hiring senior ICs and giving direct, useful feedback
Comfortable being an IC contributor on the team you manage
